Privacy Policy

Overview

Buzzle (“Buzzle,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) builds AI-powered classroom games for teachers and students. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using Buzzle, you agree to the practices described here.

We designed Buzzle to be used in classrooms, and we take the privacy of students seriously. We do not sell personal information, and we do not use student data to serve advertising.

Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of information:

  • Account information. When a teacher or account holder signs up, we collect their name, email address, and authentication details.
  • Gameplay information. When students join a game, we collect the nickname they choose, their answers, scores, and in-game activity. Students join with a game code and a nickname and are not required to create an account.
  • Content you create. The topics you enter and the question sets generated or edited for your games.
  • Usage and device information. Log data such as IP address, browser type, device identifiers, pages viewed, and timestamps, collected automatically to operate and secure the service.
  • Payment information. If you purchase a paid plan, payments are processed by our third-party payment provider. We do not store full card numbers.

How We Use Information

  • To provide, operate, and maintain the games and features.
  • To generate question sets and improve the quality of AI-generated content.
  • To display leaderboards, scores, and game results.
  • To communicate with account holders about their account, updates, and support requests.
  • To monitor usage, prevent abuse, and keep the service safe and reliable.
  • To comply with legal obligations.

Children's Privacy

Buzzle is intended to be used in educational settings under the direction of a teacher or school. We rely on schools and educators to provide any consent required under applicable laws (such as COPPA and FERPA in the United States) before students use the service.

Students join games with a nickname and a game code; we ask that students not enter real names, contact details, or other personal information as their nickname. We collect only the limited gameplay data needed to run the game.

How We Share Information

We do not sell personal information. We share information only in these limited circumstances:

  • Service providers. With vendors who host our infrastructure, process payments, provide AI model services, and help us operate Buzzle, under agreements that require them to protect the data.
  • Within a game. Nicknames, scores, and rankings are visible to other participants and the game host, as that is the nature of a shared classroom game.
  • Legal reasons. When required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users and the service.
  • Business transfers. In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to this Policy.

Data Retention

We keep personal information for as long as needed to provide the service and for legitimate business or legal purposes. Account holders can request deletion of their account and associated data at any time. Transient gameplay data (such as a temporary game session) may be deleted automatically after the game ends.

Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your Choices and Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export your personal information, or to object to certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact us using the details below. Schools and teachers may also contact us to request access to or deletion of their students’ data.

International Users

Buzzle may be operated from, and information may be processed in, countries other than your own. Those countries may have data protection laws that differ from those in your jurisdiction. By using Buzzle, you consent to this processing.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above. If we make material changes, we will provide a more prominent notice.
